To turn it on there is normally a switch which turns it on and off if not go to control panel there might be something there what can help you. or if your laptop has got it's own control system like mine has go to that that will definetley have a button.
What happens if you buy a game or something for your computer but it wont open. try restarting the computer. If that doesn't work delete it then install it again if it still doesn't work then there mgiht be a problem with the game. If it is msn (windows live messenger ) your computers anti virus may have blocked it or you are set to work offline on the internet.
If your going to buy a game or some software for a computer with windows Vista then you need to check the front cover. This is because not every thing will work with windows vista. This may be because the software was brought out before windows vista.
what happenes if you run out of memory space? well you need to delete items that you don't need. Delete all the temporay files in your computer. And if you've got windows vista then transfer some of the data from vista to data. Don't move programme files because this will make your programmes not work. Don't move desktop because none of the icons will work. Also delete all items out of the rycicle bin.
What happenes if you save something onto a memory stick take it to a different computer then try to open it and it won't. well this maybe that if you've got office 2007 the computer you are trying to open the document on might have a earlier version. You need to save it as a 93-2003 document to know how to do this go to the microsoft office page.
